cinnamon bark oil is effective against 98 percent of all pathogenic gram (+) and gram (-) bacteria. It is also effective against yeasts, candida (albicans, tropical, pseudo-tropical) and fungi, including aspergillus, thereby preventing aflatoxin production. It is antiparasitic and prevents fermentation in the intestines; it is effective against diarrhea, colitis, amoebic dysentery, enterotoximia, bacterial cystitis, and urinary tract infections with E. coli and tropical infections accompanied by fever.

As you can see it is good for many things while being anti parasitic I have had many customers see improvement in performance just with EPM Daily Maintenance. This blend has a total of 8 anti parasitic essential oils, some, like Cinnamon Bark are also good for digestion and pain! That is the wonder of Essential Oils, one oil may do 5 different therapeutic treatments.

All of the oils in the blend are antiparasitic and some are even good for gut health!

Toltrazuril is an anti coccidia that has shown to kill protozoan in studies. Toltrazuril is the result of extensive research efforts to help treat EPM (equine protozoal myeloencephalitis), which causes a multitude of effects that manifest in a variety of symptoms. Our solution represents a new standard in coccidiosis control, belonging to the chemical group of symmetric triazinons not related to any other anticoccidial drug currently in use in veterinary medicine.  5% solution affects all intracellular structures of the one-celled protozoan parasite called Sarcocystis neurona. Toltrazuril is highly effective and has demonstrated the following benefits:

-prevents and reduces the severity of lesions
-stops oocyst shedding
-improves growth rate
-improves feed conversion

Toltrazuril 5% solution is suitable for both therapy and metaphylaxis, and acts as an effective tool for controlling coccidia-related problems. By damaging the intracellular developmental stages of Coccidia, toltraturazil affects schizonts, microgametes, and macrogametes without damaging the cell tissue of the host animal. Findings from studies suggest the drug interferes with the division of the nucleus and the activity of mitochondria, which is responsible for respiratory metabolism in the parasite. In the magrometes, toltrazuril damages wall-forming bodies, and in all intracellular developmental stages, severe vacuolisation occurs due to inflation of the endoplasmatic reticulum. Toltrazuril does not interfere with immune development.

Toltrazuril is quite lipid soluble so absorption and distribution into tissue is very good. Toltrazuril 5% has a unique mode of action and there is no reason to be concerned with an adverse reaction or a drug-drug reaction. As Toltrazuril only has activity against protozoa, there is no effect on upset of intestinal flora and the formulation is very well tolerated.

The DMSO works as a driver to ensure that the Toltrazuril passes the blood brain barrier, it is less toxic than an aspirin. The Essential Oils in the blend have been proven in lab tests to kill protozoan.

Sometimes when the protozoan start dying off symptoms can get worse for a few days.  Some vets suggest bute and vitamin E during this die off period.
